Madhubani painting was traditionally created by the women of various communities in Mithila region of India & Nepal. Madhubani paintings mostly depict the human & its association with nature & the scenes from the ancient time. Natural objects like the sun, the moon, and religious plants like tulsi are also widely painted, along with scenes from the ancient royal court & social events like weddings. In this style of painting each and every part of canvas will be filled with detailed subject & back ground.
Dinni Kaur takes this style to another level and that is what she teaches. She does not limit herself to the commonly used subjects for this form of art, she works with any subject student wants to work with and create a Madhubani painting out of that. Usually it takes minimum 3 classes to complete one good Madhubani painting. If you just want to do one class we will alter the style some what to simplify subject & details so you finish one small painting in one class.
In clay pot painting and terracotta decor painting classes the decors (Pots, plates, bowls and more) are given and step by step instructions are given on how to draw on them and paint them with acrylic painting.
In T-shirt painting classes T-shirt and Dinni's special fabric paints are provided with step by step instructions on how to draw a design first and then transfer design on the T-shirt and paint it.
Henna is a form of body art from Ancient India, in which decorative designs are created on a person's body, using a paste, created from the powdered dry leaves of the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis). Ancient in origin, henna is still a popular form of body art among the women of the Indian Subcontinent, Africa and the Middle East. In this class students will learn how to draw & apply henna designs, instead of body parts lessons are given on paper. Dinni also teaches this art form on different objects like candles, wood, canvas. When you sign up for this medium, you will select one type of base to learn this art form on ( Canvas/ wood/ Candle). If you used henna before on your body, you don't need this but if you are using henna first time, We require henna allergy testing prior to class.
